A single= female remained until 10/08/89 and was seen ovipositing on Angelica 
(Angelica sylvestris) where the larvae hatched. No fur= ther development noted, 1989.

From a f= irst sighting in 1989 a small colony established and remained until 2000.
Last rec= ord - Single female reported 25/08/2005 from Pill-box hill.

05/08/99= Scaleless variety. Common resident.

Former r= esident. Not seen since 2002.

NYMPHALIDAE:    
  Silver-washed Fritillary. Argynnis paphia Linnaeus,1758
Single, = 27/06/11 - possible 2 the day before as they passed through adjoining garden.

Vagrant = from coastal colonies, 1975,1992 (2) and 2013.
  [Heath Fritillary] Mellicta athalia Rottemburg, 1775<= /font>
A single= report the day after the release of 15 bred specimens was the only sighting.
  [Marsh Fritillary] Eurodryas aurinia Rottemburg, 1775=
Release = of 20 bred specimens. At least one was successfully bred and was seen '03. 
A furthe= r 40 were released in central mire and 10 in back bog 05/06/03
None wer= e reported during 2004. 26 were released in 2010 in back bog.
34 relea= sed in Pyramidal Area 11/05/2011. c. 1000 caterpillars were released 3/09/11
and at l= east 6 survived to become adults 27/05/12. Between 30/05 and 13/06 102 adults
were rel= eased. At least 4 adults 2013.

Single s= pecimen seen 2006 - 2013 except for 2007 when none observed.

Visitor = not seen every year, however, in good years it can be very numerous as in 2009.

 07/08/94 Scaleless variety. Common res= ident - three broods have been observed.

Resident= since 1992.

1984 Lar= vae first noted. Late records: 17/08/86 and 09/89 (rare 2nd brood).

  White-letter Hairstreak. Satyrium w-album (Knoch, 1782)
Small co= lony using Japanese Elm hybrid since 2012.
